Lottomatica at SDGs Leaders 2025: Transparency as a Strategic Lever for Sustainability

Pubblicato il: 14 maggio 2025

On May 13, 2025, Lottomatica took part in the roundtable "Strategies for Transparent Communication," organized by SDGs Leaders. The initiative involves colleagues from the Lottomatica Group in an innovative training project aimed at promoting a culture of sustainability through dialogue and collaboration among companies, experts, and industry professionals.

The event, one of the main national forums for dialogue between businesses, institutions, and civil society on sustainable development, featured among its speakers Ida De Sena, Senior Manager at the Group. She participated in a business panel discussing how the CSRD Directive represents a turning point in how companies approach sustainability reporting and communication, highlighting the crucial role of a solid and structured ESG governance.

During her speech, Ida De Sena offered an in-depth reflection on the ongoing transformation in sustainability communication, particularly in relation to the introduction of the new European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Lottomatica was the first company in its sector in Italy to adopt the CSRD, initiating ESG reporting in line with the new regulatory requirements.

“The recent CSRD Directive is inevitably changing how companies report on sustainability. It is a technical, complex, and very rigorous standard that introduces new obligations for ESG data transparency and traceability. It is a fundamental tool to strengthen companies’ credibility in the eyes of the market, investors, and institutions. However, it cannot and should not replace the traditional sustainability report. On the contrary, the two tools must coexist and complement each other,” said Ida De Sena.

Lottomatica, always attentive to regulatory developments and ESG principles, has structured its governance in such a way as to make sustainability an integrated part of its business. As De Sena emphasized, “The Group has established managerial committees dedicated to each pillar of sustainability,” thereby fostering a cross-functional and lasting cultural shift.

A well-structured governance enables the effective dissemination of the company’s mission and vision. This model has allowed us to monitor ESG performance and fully integrate it into our business strategies,” De Sena concluded.

The presentation highlighted Lottomatica’s role as a pioneer in sustainable reporting, aligned with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda. The Group actively contributes to achieving 8 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reaffirming its commitment to responsible, transparent, and forward-looking growth.

Participation in SDGs Leaders 2025 reflects Lottomatica’s desire to remain a key player in driving change, promoting clear, structured communication aligned with the expectations of stakeholders, investors, and institutions.
