On July 17, 2025, Lottomatica took part in the conference “Communicating Sustainability: New Narratives Across Media, Web, and Business,” organized by SostenibileOggi in collaboration with the Civita Association. The event aimed to contribute to the ongoing discussion on how to make sustainability communication more effective, empathetic, and accessible.
Hosted at the headquarters of the Civita Association in Rome, the initiative brought together representatives from institutions, the media, and the business world to reflect on the central role of storytelling in the sustainable transition. Among the participants was Lottomatica, which shared its experience in making ESG content more understandable and engaging for all its stakeholders: investors, employees, citizens, and consumers.
Communicating Sustainability Beyond Data: A Cultural and Strategic Challenge
During the event's roundtable discussions, a shared call to action emerged: sustainability communication must go beyond technical reporting and become an authentic, diverse narrative capable of fostering awareness and participation.
As Ida De Sena, Senior Manager of ESG and Innovation at Lottomatica Group, emphasized: “The real challenge today is to translate a complex subject into a simple, human, and accessible language. Our sustainability report, prepared in accordance with the new CSRD standards, was conceived with this goal in mind. In the coming months, we will also publish a concise and more immediate version to allow everyone to engage with our ESG initiatives.”
This commitment reflects the Group’s broader ambition to promote a cross-cutting sustainability culture, capable of reaching diverse audiences through clear, transparent, and digital communication.
From Reporting to Relationship: Lottomatica and ESG Communication
Lottomatica is among the first companies in Italy to have adopted the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which introduces stricter transparency and traceability criteria for environmental, social, and governance data.
Participation in the conference reaffirms the Group's path toward a sustainability communication model focused on building relationships, not just reporting performance.
At the same time, Lottomatica continues to invest in internal training, regular updates to its corporate website—the primary touchpoint of the company’s narrative—and in spreading sustainability awareness along the entire value chain.
National Recognition for a Strong Commitment
Lottomatica’s approach to sustainability—based on transparency, innovation, and active stakeholder engagement—was recently recognized by InfoCert, which awarded the Group the title of “Sustainability Ambassador 2025” for its concrete ESG achievements.
This recognition complements Lottomatica’s participation in the conference “Strategies for Transparent Communication,” held on May 13 as part of the SDGs Leaders 2025 initiative. On that occasion, Ida De Sena highlighted the role of the CSRD and emphasized how a structured ESG governance—complete with dedicated committees and internal processes—is essential for credible, business-integrated reporting.
Lottomatica as a Driver of Cultural Change
The July 17 conference enabled meaningful dialogue between businesses, media, and institutions, laying the groundwork for a future observatory on sustainable communication.
For Lottomatica, this participation reinforces its commitment to integrated sustainability and contributes to building a more transparent and informed communication ecosystem.
