LOTTOMATICA OBTAINS G4 CERTIFICATION ACROSS ALL OPERATIONAL BOUNDARIES: IT IS THE LEADING GROUP IN ITALY FOR RESPONSIBLE GAMING

Pubblicato il: 16 settembre 2026

Lottomatica Group and the Global Gambling Guidance Group (G4) announce the achievement of Responsible Gaming Certification across the entire perimeter of the Group's activities. With this major recognition, Lottomatica becomes the first group in the Italian gaming industry to reach such a milestone across all of its operational areas, covering online, gaming machines, betting, and supplier operations.

This result marks the culmination of the journey set out by the General Agreement signed in 2025 with G4, an international organization led by top industry experts dedicated globally to promoting responsible gaming and preventing risks associated with problem gambling.

The agreement provided for a comprehensive restructuring of safety protocols structured along two lines. On one hand, existing certifications were renewed for previously accredited entities, such as Big Easy S.r.l. for the retail channel and the online brands goldbet.it, lottomatica.it, and betflag.it. On the other hand, accreditation was extended for the first time to Group companies not previously covered—namely the gaming machine concessionaires Lottomatica Videolot Rete S.p.A. and Gamenet S.p.A., the retail and online betting concessionaires GBO Italy S.p.A. and PWO S.p.A., and the provider Giocaonline.

Throughout the detailed evaluation process, the standards examined by G4 addressed the Group’s Responsible Gaming governance, the effectiveness of the safeguards implemented across the various offering channels, and the role of the people involved in promoting a culture of responsibility and safety in gaming on a daily basis. This milestone consolidates a long-term path built alongside G4, reinforcing a corporate sustainability strategy oriented toward a safe entertainment model focused on consumer protection.

For Lottomatica, this achievement represents an important recognition of the path we have taken to make Responsible Gaming an integral part of how we do business. Extending the G4 certification to all of the Group's main business lines testifies to the solidity of our commitment and our ability to translate it concretely into our processes, technologies, and workforce behavior - commented Ida De Sena, Corporate Sustainability and Responsible Gaming Senior Manager-. It is a result that makes us very proud and, at the same time, holds us accountable to keep improving, contributing to the sustainable and responsible evolution of the whole industry.”

"What stood out over nine audit days was that player protection in this group is carried by the people who deliver it. In venue after venue we met staff who could explain not only what the procedure is, but why it exists. That is harder to build than any policy document, and it is the strongest foundation an operator can have. – commented Ynze Remmers, G4 Lead Auditor -. Accreditation is not a finish line, it is the start of a three-year cycle. Lottomatica has earned it on the strength of its operational practice. The work now is to put systems and evidence around that practice, so the standard holds whoever is in the room.”
