Technology and people at the centre of the sustainable business growth of Lottomatica

Pubblicato il: 11 giugno 2025

Lottomatica strengthens its commitment to a sustainable business growth model by embracing an integrated approach that combines technological innovation with inclusion, continuous learning, and organizational well-being. This is the guiding principle of the Group’s People Strategy, a long-term plan launched in 2022 with the aim of enhancing individual skills as a driving force for change, efficiency, and sustainability, in line with ESG principles and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This integrated vision is an essential part of Lottomatica’s corporate culture, which strives to foster a fair, stable, and forward-looking work environment.

Lottomatica People: skills, leadership, and team spirit
With over 2,800 employees from 42 different nationalities, Lottomatica invests in human capital along three strategic pillars:
Enable – developing individual skills through tailored training programs.
Empower – fostering performance and leadership consistent with the company’s values.
Engage – strengthening the sense of belonging and team spirit, encouraging energy and collaboration.
In the 2023–2024 period, the Group delivered over 30,000 hours of training, marking a 38% increase compared to the previous year. Each employee benefited from an average of 11.6 hours of training focused on soft skills, safety, languages, digital technologies, and technical expertise.

Training and innovation: Artificial Intelligence as a growth driver
Among Lottomatica’s most significant training initiatives, StepUp stands out as a concrete example of internal growth: a development program that combines experiential training, webinars, and technical pathways for both junior and senior professionals.
Supporting digital transformation, Lottomatica has also launched a reskilling program on AI through its proprietary LAMP (Lottomatica Analytics Mesh Platform), which integrates Artificial Intelligence with advanced data management. This initiative has led to the formation of new in-house Data Scientists, strengthening the Group’s ability to drive ESG innovation and optimize business processes.
Inclusion, diversity, and gender equality: fostering an equitable organizational culture
Lottomatica actively promotes an inclusive environment that respects diversity, as evidenced by its UNI/PdR 125:2022 Gender Equality Certification and its recognition as a Top Employer Italy 2024–2025. Currently, 35% of the workforce is made up of women, with targeted actions to increase female representation in STEM fields and leadership positions.
To this end, the “Women at the Top” program supports female managers in developing inspirational leadership, while the Fair Pay initiative ensures pay equity, reducing the gender pay gap to 3.5% in 2024, with a target of closing the gap entirely by 2030.
The Group’s inclusion strategy also unfolds through the BecomeYounique project, managed by the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, covering five key areas: gender equality, cultural diversity, disability & accessibility, generational diversity, and LGBTQ+ inclusion. Activities include unconscious bias training, educational programs, partnerships with organizations such as Valore D and Parole O_Stili, and a dedicated platform for developing D&I-related skills.

Employee welfare and well-being: an ecosystem that supports people
Lottomatica has implemented a comprehensive welfare and work-life balance plan, structured on multiple levels:
Become Healthy program to promote healthy lifestyles.
100% guaranteed smart working for all compatible roles.
Extended health and insurance coverage, including long-term care and family benefits.
Parental support with supplementary parental leave and reimbursements for nurseries and schools.
Scholarships and educational contributions for employees’ children.
Inclusion of individuals with disabilities, with personalized work programs in collaboration with A.I.P.D.

Lottomatica: a stable, ethical, and future-oriented environment
91% of Lottomatica employees have permanent contracts, and over 93% work full time, underscoring the company’s commitment to job stability. In line with the United Nations SDGs, the Group’s Human Rights Policy ensures fair and respectful working conditions across all operational contexts.
Furthermore, in 2023 and 2024, Lottomatica was awarded Best HR Team certification, confirming its ability to combine corporate growth with employee well-being through innovative initiatives.
