Lottomatica Foundation

Lottomatica Foundation is an autonomousindependent, and non-profit organization, the expression of the social commitment of the Lottomatica Group, reflecting its fundamental principles of focus on responsibility and legality, on people, on the community, and on the territory.

The foundation promotes a culture in line with ESG criteria, of respect for the environment and the territory, of attention to social impact and diversity and inclusion issues, and of good corporate governance. It represents a laboratory of ideas and actions aimed at generating opportunities, knowledge, and cohesionconstituting the social return instrument of the Lottomatica Group.

Mission and Social Sustainability Objectives

Fondazione Lottomatica is committed to sharing the values that support cultural, economic, and social progress and the development of the territories in which it operates. To this end, it promotes projects, supports organizations, and enhances initiatives aimed at achieving four main objectives:

  • building opportunities;
  • social return;
  • supporting local communities;
  • scientific research.


Projects and Partnerships for Social Impact

Among the initiatives carried out by the Foundation is the collaboration with the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS, which led to the creation of CEPID, the new Integrated Psychiatric Center for research, treatment, and prevention of Addictions.  This is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with highly qualified personnel and specialized equipmentwhere citizens can seek assistance and support. CEPID was established and made operational within the Complex Operating Unit of Clinical and Emergency Psychiatry of the Gemelli Polyclinicdirected by Professor Gabriele Sani and coordinated by Doctor Marco Di Nicola. The center aims to develop clinical and research activities focused on the preventioncontrast, and treatment of pathological addiction disorders. In this senseit aims to contribute to greater knowledge of these phenomena from an epidemiological perspective, to the optimization of diagnostic and treatment pathways, and to the improvement of socio-educational interventions.

Also part of the partnership with the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS is the training and awareness program "Punto Gioco intelligente" (Intelligent Gaming Point), aimed at the personnel of the Lottomatica Group's sales network.

Lottomatica Foundation distinguishes itself for its constant commitment to supporting the community, promoting social projects, and supporting researchdiscussion, and in-depth study initiatives through institutional partnerships, scholarships, and training programs.


ResearchInclusion, and Training Projects

Lottomatica Foundation is recognized for its commitment to supporting the community, through the promotion of research and social intervention projects, discussion, and in-depth study, within the scope of numerous institutional partnerships, scholarships, and training programs.

For example, in 2023, collaboration was initiated with the European University of Rome, through the research-intervention project entitled "Countering discrimination by promoting social cohesion. A psycho-socio-educational intervention for upper secondary schools," which aims to foster social integration and combat discrimination within Italian high schools.

Alongside this partnership is the "Ripartenze: riprendiamoci il futuro!" (New Starts: Let's Take Back the Future!) project, promoted by Fondazione Lottomatica in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and ELIS (a non-profit association specializing in training and job placement for the socially and economically disadvantaged) to promote the social reintegration of inmates through training and work.


Research on Environmental Sustainability and Social Welfare

As part of its research activities, Fondazione Lottomatica has initiated a collaboration with Percorsi di secondo welfare (Second Welfare Pathways), a research and information laboratory at the University of Milan specializing in sustainability issuesthrough the publication of reports that help disseminate knowledge and awareness on topics of sustainable transition and social welfare.

Other initiatives are:

  • Mobile Angel, a service born from the collaboration between the Carabinieri and Soroptimist International for the creation of smartwatches directly connected to the operations center of the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri in Rome, whichworn by victims of stalking or gender violence, can send a request for help.
  • "Digitalmente Attivi" (Digitally Active), a project born from the collaboration with the Longevitas Foundation, with the aim of promoting digital literacy among those over 65.
  • "Passaporto del Guarito" (The Recovered Patient’s Passport), a project of the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital carried out in collaboration with the Peter Pan ODV association and the Bambino Gesù Foundation.
  • Race for the Cure and Run4Rome, traditional solidarity sporting events held annually in the city of Rome.
  • Secondigliano Penitentiary Center (Naples), with the inauguration of a new basketball court in collaboration with FIP (Italian Basketball Federation) and the non-profit association Seconda Chance.
  • Fondazione Il Dono, with initiatives aimed at supporting and including people with disabilities or in conditions of social fragility.
