The promotion of Responsible Gaming holds a central role for Lottomatica in building a sustainable business strategy and necessarily relies on proper training and awareness-raising efforts, both for employees and for operators who interact more directly with consumers. The goal is to provide specific skills for the prevention of underage gaming, the mitigation of problematic gambling, and the prevention of gambling disorder.
Training is delivered through courses with varying levels of depth, depending on the functions they target — from internal staff to retailers within the sales network, as well as all personnel who work most closely with players. The Group also provides employees with an anonymous channel through which they can report personal issues related to gaming or express concerns on the matter.
To ensure a proper approach to responsible gaming management, all functions involved in marketing and/or communication activities are required to operate in accordance with the specific guidelines defined in the Responsible Marketing Policy and the procedures dedicated to responsible gaming.
Since 2023, the Lottomatica Group has launched a comprehensive training program for all its employees and its nationwide network.
The course, titled “Punto Gioco Intelligente”, is carried out in collaboration with the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS and Fondazione Lottomatica. It addresses the issue of Gambling Disorder with a practical approach aimed at facilitating the identification, prevention, and mitigation of this condition.

The Lottomatica Group aims to be the professional gaming network. For this reason, training courses are offered to all retailers and/or their collaborators within the betting and VLT networks, who—after being notified—are invited to access the training portal and complete the program.
In addition, Big Easy S.r.l., a Group company responsible for managing directly operated gaming venues, provides specific training through the so-called Academy, established with the goal of enhancing the knowledge and professionalism of all employees working in venues within the Big Easy network.

Contact center operators, due to their direct interaction with players, receive specialized training aimed at identifying unusual gaming behaviors and providing essential cognitive tools to prevent and/or manage at-risk behaviors.
The training also covers the support and prevention tools available for players.
The Lottomatica Group, in order to further strengthen its commitment to responsible conduct, has taken steps to train internal figures who can act as a first point of contact for all employees who express a need for discussion on issues related to problematic dependency.
The identified contact persons receive specific training on the subject, provided directly by the doctors of CEPID (Integrated Psychiatric Center for Research, Treatment, and Prevention of Dependencies) at the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome.
With this initiative, the Lottomatica Group intends to offer concrete tools to recognize any signs of distress to intervene promptly and contribute to the prevention of potentially risky situations, both in the professional and personal lives of its employees.

The employees of the Lottomatica Group are required to complete training on Responsible Conduct, which is part of the mandatory training courses and is regulated by a specific internal procedure.
Depending on their role and the corresponding degree of interaction with customers, the training programs have three levels of depth:
